Homemade Entropy Detector

easy to make, just put several kinds of beans in a lidded glass jar. then shake it whenever coincidences cause you to suspect entropy is dropping. Mycroft, who probably invented this, gave one to Thursday (in Lost In A Good Book by Jasper Fforde) because someone was trying to kill her using coincidence...such as lightening striking where she stood, a stray bullet hitting her, stuff like that. she had merely to check to see if the beans formed patterns...and if so, run like hell! this doesn't mean low entropy is bad, you might check to see if you should buy a lottery ticket, for example! and of course, usually, a coincidence is just a coincidence.

Weather virus

for weeks each day when i went out for a lunch break it started to rain!
so Liz was careful to take lunch at a different time.
this week i have gone happily walking about in the sunshine. but it has rained on her when she went out!

conclusion has to be that it is a virus. weather really is in the hands of certain people, as you have always suspected anyway. however it is contagious; you get over it after a bit and someone else catches it. just observe and you will see the truth of this. don't tell anyone, they will think you are crazy.
